[Trident Z RGB] Third party software support

We've been working with motherboard partners to allow syncing with our Trident Z RGB lighting with other supported components through motherboard software. Please do note that there are some limitations and/or requirements, so make sure to double check or lighting effects might not work properly. We hope to update this list when information is confirmed and made available by the respective vendors.


1. ASUS Aura Sync
- Not recommended to install both Aura Sync and Trident Z RGB Control software at the same time.

2. MSI Mystic Light
- Must have Trident Z RGB Control software installed for the "LightingService" to run in the background, but does not need the Trident Z RGB software to be opened. (If Trident Z RGB software is not installed, then Mystic Light would only be able to set lighting effects to one module.)
- MSI X299 motherboards have Trident Z RGB recognition issues. Until this is resolved by MSI, please use the G.SKILL Trident Z RGB lighting control software to control memory RGB lighting.

3. Gigabyte RGB Fusion
- Only motherboards based on the Z370, X299, and X399 chipsets are supported.
- Not recommended to install both RGB Fusion and Trident Z RGB Control software at the same time.


If you're having trouble with lighting control, a few things to check are:
1. Update BIOS to the latest version
2. Check the software version, and find the latest version for your motherboard
3. Use Trident Z RGB Control software v1.00.28 or later

Hi,
I own an MSI B350 Tomahawk Arctic and a pair of Trident Z RGB. As you stated in this post I should be able to control the lighting via MSIs Mystic Light Sync software. However I am not able to do that. Could you please clarify if this works for Mystic Light AND Mystic Light Sync? As I understand both are failry different. Mystic Light is a standalone application on higher end boards (similar to Asus Aura) whereas Mystic Light Sync is a less capable version of it integrated in MSIs Gaming App.

MSI's software naming is rather confusing, but we've gotten in contact MSI and double check on their software compatibility. MSI Gaming App is not capable of controlling Trident Z RGB lighting, but does include additional motherboard setting options that may not be available in the MSI Mystic Light software.

Only MSI Mystic Light software is capable of Trident Z RGB lighting control, as described in the first post of this thread. At the time of writing, we're able to confirm that MSI Mystic Light 2.0.0.32 works. Below are the list of supported motherboards, according to their software Release Note for version 2.0.0.32.

I have the X299 GAMING PRO CARBON AC with latest BIOS.
I cannot get TridentZ RGB to sync with Mystic light. I have "lighting service" running in the background. Am I missing something?

Is the memory config part showing up in the Mystic Light software? If it is, try going into the Services window and right click on LightingService and restart the service. Also, do you have v1.00.28 software version of the LightingService?

Please also let us know the model number of the memory kit, and the first eight digits of the serial number (located on the module). Thanks.

No, unfortunately the memory config part is not showing up in Mystic light. I do have the lasted versions of both Mystic Light, and Gksill software.

Serial: (I took from barcode on back of box, hope thats right) Set #1: 84835402

Hi, The serial numbers should be under the bar code and starts with "1". The two numbers you've found are the product UPC and EAN numbers. And since the kit also has 4 modules, there should be 4 consecutive serial numbers.

We'll check with the engineering team to see if there's something we missed. In the meantime, can you check if the modules are installed in the correct slots? If it's a quad-channel supported processor, it should be [x][_][x][_][CPU][_][x][_][x], where [x] are populated. Thanks.

18030139 (they all end sequentially with 99[X] where [X] increases by one number)

Well, not sure why they're skipping the X370 chipset, but in their latest release, it seems like the X470 chipset has been added to software support from Mystic Light.

So I'm guessing there are more updates that need to be done. Considering the results yielded the same results as I did. I understand gskill RGB software is still in beta stage so it isn't complete. Can I get some sort of ETA of when my mainboard will actually get support?

We've already reported the issue to MSI. Seems like MSI still has some updating to do on the Mystic Light software with the X299 motherboards.

For MSI X299 motherboards, we recommend using the Trident Z RGB lighting control software for memory lighting control.
