  • Using 1.6v memory with ASUS P8Z68-V board

    Hi

    I ordered an ASUS P8Z68-V board with an i7-2600K 3.40 GHz CPU. Now the problem is that I wanted to order the G.Skill Ripjaws X DDR3 16GB (4 x 4GB) 1600 but I made a mistake and odered the G.SKILL RIPJAWS Z F3-12800CL9Q-16GBZL 16GB 4x4GB DDR3 1600MHZ instead.

Now I am worried that this memory wont work with this board or that it might cause problems. Anyone here have any suggestion I will really appreciate it.

    Thanks

No problem at all! Just enable XMP and you're ready to go!

    Thank you

Another question concerning this. Do you think I need to buy a memory cooling system? In the manual for the board, its says that if one is going to use all the memory slot it is recommended to use a memory cooling system.

As long as you have decent ventilation in your box you should be good, many run those sticks at 1866 with no problem and no need for a cooler
