  • Overclock 16Gb (4x4) Gskill Ripjaws X 1600Mhz F3-12800CL9Q-16GBXL

A few days ago i bought 16Gb (4x4) Gskill Ripjaws X 1600Mhz , 1.5V , CL9 , F3-12800CL9Q-16GBXL memory. Im expiriencing an overclocking problems now, it just doesnt want to overclock. I tried everything, setting timinigs as 8-9-8-24 for 1600mhz and 11-11-11-31 2000mhz with 1.65v voltage. It can never pass memtest and BSOD's in Lynx. I wanted to overlock to atleast 2000mhz, motherboard p7p55-m, cpu - i5 750, overclocked 200x19 (3.8Ghz).

Well i tried everything maybe anyone has any ideas? Before that i had cheap samsung memory 1333, 3x1gb + 1x2gb = 5gb total, everything was working fine in dual mode and was overclocked to 2000mhz with 9-11-10-24 timinigs, 1.5v

    Thanks for help.

Start w/ the basics, ensure you have the latest BIOS, install the sticks, go to BIOS, enable XMP and give it a whirl, if any problems try raising QPI/VTT voltage to 1.23 or so

Thanks for the answer. I have latest BIOS and i tried raising QPI/VTT up to 1.3v, and tried all timings, either it fails to pass memtest or goes BSOD in windows

Have you tried with XMP or only manually? (Will be out for a bit, back later in the afternoon - maybe a couple of hours)

I tried manually, now tried XMP, there was only one preset 1600 9-9-9-24T2, changing timings manually up to 11-12-12-31 and 1.65v gives no result. Any other things i could try? Thanks.

Might try 1866 10-10-10-30 or at 1600 with 8-9-8-28 (both at 2T) believe both might/should work but will have to play with DRAM and/or QPI/VTT, it's also possibly they overall combo won't want to OC, sometimes it happens, not all mobos, CPUs and DRAM are primo, occasionally you'll get one of the three that's marginal and won't OC

Did you try one at a time to see if one may be bad causing problems?

              Thank you
