Sounds like a bad mobo, might want to see if you can RMA through the e/re-tailer (faster than the manufacturer normally)

will do. thanks again for your help! greatly appreciated. you alone saved me from thinking i had bad ram or a bad combination etc. Ive always preferred gskill ram for performance. I will continue to do so.
