  • 8GB RipjawsX on ASUS MaximusIV GENE-Z timings

Hi I am new here I have been trying to get my RAM to a stable overclock to 2133mhz I have tried several timings 9-10-9-28 T1 and T2 didn't boot 9-10-11-T1/2 didnt boot ended up with 10-11-10-28 @T2 and increased the DRAM voltage to 1.56V seems stable but do I need to increase the voltage or anything else to get tighter timings.<

    Thanks in advance.

My RAM model no is. F3-14900CL9D-8GBXL

Can try adding .03 to the vccio voltage (memory controller) and take DRAM to to 1.575 the set to 9-12-11-30 think that might be stable and then can try tightening down, otherwise with the Ripjaws the 10-11-10-28 is pretty good, the first timing is what will provide the most boost so am starting with the 9 then looser to try a stable platform to work from. Have gotten these to a little tighter at 2133 but haven't tried on your mobo, which is why loose

Hi there thankyou for your quick response I have tried what you suggested:

added .03 to the vcc/io was 1.045 raised to 1.745

      changed the DRAM to 1.575v

changed timings to your suggested 9-12-11-30 wouldn't post into BIOS

changed to T1 from T2 still won't post into BIOS

tried same voltage and vccio and dRAM voltages you suggested with:

      9-11-10-28 wouldn't post

      9-12-12-30 wouldn't post

seems like its not liking the CAS to be in 9

I changed it back to my original timings but kept the DRAM voltage at 1.575 and th vccio at 1.0745 and booted into windows fine

What are your suggestions from here?

Thanks for the help so far

Sorry I forgot to mention I am running Win7Ultimate.

You could try a bit more voltage, (keep an eye on temps) but from what I've seen, if it won't go at the looser timings with CL9, prob not going to get to 9, can always try in your spare time though, keep track of the stable CL10 timings/settings for fallback

1.65v is gonna increase temps I thought these were rated at 1.5v but will try these settings out and hopefully they will be stable.

Will let you know the results.

Those settings work fine temps seem stable but going to run memtest and see how that goes wow CAS9 was acheivable thanks so much

Unfortunately I was having stability issues with it set to CL 9 so reverted back to 10-11-10-28 T2 would changing anyhting else help with stability there are lots of different things I can change in the BIOS. I ran LinX and memtest and it didnt show any errors and seems stable but while playing BF3 it was starting to freeze in game quite often and assuming that I only changed the RAM timings and nothing else that this was the cause what do you think?

Might up the DRAM voltage just a bit more and/or the VCCIO (1.13-1.14)

exactly how much should I increase the DRAM voltage?

Try taking it up + .02 or so at a time
