16GB. DDR3 dual vs. quad channel

Is there any performance difference between 16gb.-2x8 vs. 16gb.-4x4 same specs each? for EVGA Z68-FTW

Overall I think if any it would lean to 2x8GB just because there would be a little less stress on the MC only having to drive 2 sticks, but it would be negligible other than you'd have a couple slots to expand into
