  • F3-12800CL9D-4GBRL and ASUS P8Z68-V Pro errors

I keep getting random BSODs(mostly 1a errors) and memtest reports multiple errors in memory. I've tried using the default 1.5v as well as 1.55v and 1.6v on the ram, and VCCIO voltage up to 1.1v, all with XMP profile 1(9,9,9, 24, command rate 2), I've tried something like 10-12 different setups but it's always the same: it might run for hours or days, but eventually something crashes, or I get a BSOD, and memtest always comes up with errors.
    System setup is:
    ASUS P8Z68-V Pro (newest BIOS)
    F3-12800CL9D-4GBRL (1 set)
Intel core i5 2500k (default clock)
    Windows 7

I am just about ready to throw out this memory, but maybe, just maybe there is some setup that will make it work?

You have CPU VOLTAGE on Offset mode ? Can you try in manual mode ? (you can still chose auto for actual voltage under Manual Mode)

What happens when you set all ram settings(timings, speed and voltage) to auto ? (not XMP)

I couldn't run my rams with offset mode + xmp. I had to set ram settings manually and cpu manual mode then memtest passed.

Ok, after some (more) thorough testing: setting the cpu voltage to manual mode and/or the ram timings to auto did not fix the problem.
And: yes, I am using the latest bios (1101).

Did you try each ram alone on advertised settings ?

May need to RMA, if within the return/exchange window for your re/e-tailer would check with them first, else can contact GSkill at rma@gskillusa.com or for the world rma@gskill.com

Heh, I wish. RMA-ing something from Iceland is about as fun as a root canal, and costs roughly as much.
              Well, thanks anyway.

Is there another system you could try them in, to see if it's DRAM or mobo, or even other sticks you can try in your rig
