    Hello,

I am having issues with the new 8g kit that i bought and running my OC.

I previously had the same ram kit just the 4G version and now since i installed the new kit it will not post. I reset CMOS and ran everything at stock and got it to go to windows but it has the ram running at 666mhz with a 2:1 ratio.

I already tried running xmp and got a blue screen.

I can post my previous bios setting here so that maybe there is something that you can help me to change to get it running properly. The previous set up ran for 3yrs no prob and various stress test 24hrs solid. Also to note on the auto run in bios setting it automatically puts the dram voltage to 1.6 instead of the stated 1.5 in the specs.

First here are the specs of my build b4 i upgraded the ram.

    mobo: Asus Rampage Extreme x48

    Cpu: Intel Q9550 Stock@ 2.8ghz fsb 333. Yorkfeild, Stepping A, Revision E0 - OC to 3.4ghz fsb of 400

    RAM: F3-12800CLD9-4GBRL--- 2x2gb

Here are my bios setting for the above hardware: Ran no prob for 3 yrs 24hr stress test p95 and Linpax

I tried to run this saved bios but got a blue screen, im assuming i need to tweak some voltages but honestly i dont know where to start. Hence the reason for my posting, and hopefully some insight into where to start.

    Thanks.

Do you have the latest BIOS, check that first, then CR (Command Rate) needs to be 2N instead of 1N, if those don't help, try taking up the NB voltage + .03

Pls offer comments on support I provide, HERE, in order to help me do a better job here:

Sorry about the typo in the title..

Yes i have the latest Bios for this board which is 1301 from their website. Ok i will try that. Thanks.. Also to note i just OC the cpu to 3.4, 400fsb and have the ram matching a 1:1 ratio is this correct? I set defaults in bios and just changed the multiplyer to 8.5 and the fsb to 400. Everything else is auto.

      Aren't i looking for a 2:1 ratio?

Also it bumped my cpu vtt to 1.7 and the dram v to 1.6 is this ok/safe?

Bios will not post with your suggestions. Also as i mentioned before the overclock i just did to 3.4 and had the ram at 400mhz 1:1 ratio failed p95 in 10 mins

Gskill might have an idea or two, will ask them to take a look, can't remember if this can handle 8GB of 1600, could try dropping to 1333 @ 8-8-8-24 2n
