  • Setting up SSD for new build? G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 16GB (4X4) DDR3 2133 (PC17000)

    I am building my first system and had a few questions regarding set up of my SSD before i install Windows 7. When i first turn on my new build do i have to change my Bios manually to AHCI or will it automatically detect this for me. And what are the following steps i need to know......Also should i change my boot sequence to CD/DVD 1st before installing Windows 7?

    First, in Advanced Mode of EFI/BIOS, enable XMP Profile for AI Overclock Tuner. This will configure all the settings for memory.

    Then change SATA mode to AHCI, to install Windows.

    Set boot sequence to CD/DVD so it can load Windows 7 CD to install.

    That's it, then it will install, and everything is ready to go.

    You already have a good idea.

      Awesome.......Thank you for a excellent straight forward answer, i have been researching exactly how this was going to play out when i 1st turn on my new build and you gave me the answer i was looking for.......hats off!!
