  • Strange CPUZ SPD Reading

RMA'd 2 sticks awhile back and noticed this on my gigabyte board. Was advised that it was probably an error with the GB board. Just upgraded to an ASUS CHVF 990FX and getting the same reading. Can someone please explain? Why are PT numbers the same but max bandwidth different? Sorry for the large image did not know that it would not be resized.

Does your mobo have the latest BIOS? The one stick showing a 2 in the tRAS may be being misread, the differences in the maxbandwidth may come from sets of sticks from diffferent production lots with the hiogher being the newer default boot settings...

Pls offer comments on support I provide, HERE, in order to help me do a better job here:

Thanks for your reply. I am running the latest beta Bios however these results were the same on my previous official Bios and on my previous board. Will this affect performance and how do I fix it?

It will not affect performance, there is no need to fix it. The max bandwidth just shows the max the motherboard can default the memory. You should not use default settings anyway, you should use XMP. Look at the XMP Profile of each module, they are the same, that's all that matters.

Input the proper settings, and you should be ready to go.

So, just to make sure I am clear, at the moment all 4 sticks are running at 800, 2 of the sticks just are not capable of reporting the correct speed. This makes me feel much better about my ram.

          Thanks alot

Well, I don't know whether they are operating at 800, you need to show me or look in the memory tab. The memory tab shows current operating values. The SPD tab just shows suggested values and standard values. The two sticks are reporting correctly, they are just reporting lower because they were produced at an earlier date. Before, the standard was DDR3-1333, now it is DDR3-1600, so that's why the kits are displaying different values. It does not affect performance or anything, so it should still work the same.

            Thank you
