Asus P8Z68-V PRO + G.SKILL F3-12800CL9Q problems

Hi,

I am trying to upgrade my computer. I have recently purchased the following:

intel i5-2500k
ASUS P8Z68-V PRO
G.SKILL F3-12800CL9Q (4 x 4GB)
Radeon HD6950

I've completed putting them all together but my computer refuses to boot up. Its a RAM issue as the DRAM led is on. however, when i remove all the sticks and only place 2 sticks in Dimm a1 & A2, the computer boots up.

I have tried all the sticks in Dimm A1 and the ram sticks are fine. It only becomes a problem when i try to run it in dual channel ( Dimm A1 & B1) OR (Dimm A2 & B2). The computer does not boot up when all slots are used as well.

I have updated my bios to the latest version and i'm still currently experiencing this problem. I was hoping if someone could help me fix my boot up issues. What do i need to do to get all 16GB of Ram working.

Not sure what set you have, need the last few of the model #, but are you trying at auto or manual or XMP?
Would suggest first make sure you have the latest BIOS installed? 0902? Can be found here:

Next try enabling XMP, then select the 1600 profile.....

If no go, go to a single stick, enter BIOS and manually enter base timings, DRAM voltage and CR to 2T (or 2N), then add other sticks....let us know how that goes

DDR3-1600 PC3-12800 4GBx4
XMP CL9-9-9-24 1.35V

I've already updated the latest bios.

how do i go abt manually entering base timings, DRAM voltage and CR to 2T (or 2N)

Through the BIOS, the base timings and DRAM voltage should be on the package

I've tried what you said but it keeps saying that overclocking failed. The computer does not boot up when i use more than 2 sticks of ram.

Actually the settings look pretty good, might want to change the XMP setting to manual but keep the same timings and voltages, many BIOSs have problems with XMP beyonf 2 sticks, which could be a problem here. Might also consider raising the multiplier to 35 or 36, have seen some mobos with problems at stock speed

Which one is the multiplier??

In your first pic it shows the CPU speed at 3.38, stock should be 3.3 (multiplier of 33), so showing 3.38 , something is off somewhere. The multiplier should be in with the CPU info in the BIOS, am suggesting 3.6 (36) or 3.7 (37) or so (and done through the BIOS)
