  • F3-12800CL9D-8GBSR real speed ?

    Before i buy this item :http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231416
    I want to be sure that ram speed are 1600 each ram or 2x800.
    I know sound stupid , but happens on last buy with patriot pc6400 kit (2x1gb) , they says speed was 800 mhz , when actually were 400 mhz each memory ram.

    Also i want to ask if the G.SKILL Sniper 8GB (2 x 4GB) F3-12800CL9D-8GBSR are compatible with this motherboard :

    Btw , i have not any knowledge about memory ram , im going to use my system for games so other question is what Cas Latency should i choose ?
    thanks and i hope someone help me.

    Your last memory was running at it's rated speed.

    DDR= Double Data Rate, so 400Mhz, = 800mHz DDR.

    Your new kit is 1600mHz DDR, so it will also be running at 800mHz if you check with something like CPU-Z

      Thanks phreeflo for your fast response , the motheboard ill get says that support DDR3 2000(O.C.)/1600/1333/1066.
      I guess mobo will activate dual channel and make the rams runs at 1600 , or maybe i can get some incompatibility problem with the speeds supported.

        Yes the Snipers will run fine with that mobo, as long as you have a CPU that can handle 1600, like a 965 Rev C or better. There's a sticky for setting up 1600 sticks here:

          ill never touch setting , im a noob at overclocking.
          for default this memorys runs at 1600 ?

            Basically any AMD CPU you go with will require manual settings for 1600, the default on the mobos is generally 1066 or 1333, that's why the sticky was mentioned above - for plug and play 1600 and up, you really need to go Intel
