Right now I'm running Win7 Pro 64bit on the following hardware:
MB: Gigabyte P35C-DSR3
CPU: Q6600
GPU: 8800GTX.
RAM: 4GB of DDR2 (2x2GB of Corsair CM2x2048-6400C4DHX)
My question is can I drop a pair of G.SKILL F3-10666CL7D-8GBRH (they are 2x4GB, DDR3-1333)? The motherboard's supported memory list certainly doesn't include this and the ram itself say it's designed for LGA1155 Sandy Bridge. I have the latest bios (F12) on the board already. I only do mild overclock on the CPU - more like Gigabyte's take on turbo I guess. When system is idle the CPU steps down to 6x multiplier and 1.6GHz but under load it could go as high 2.8ish GHz.
I'm running out of ram when I have multiple FF tabs, email and game open and its the only reason I'm considering getting this. My system probably won't be able to use this ram to its full potential but right now its going for $50 on newegg. So question is would it work with my board?
