  • DDR3 memory for Asus P5Q3

    Hello.

I am an owner of a Asus P5Q3 motherboard with a Intel C2Duo E8500 processor. I bought 2x4GB GSkill RipjawsX DDR3 1333MHz (7-7-7-21) memories but the computer does not start. After finding some information I saw that those memories are not certified for my motherboard so I supose that is the problem for my computer does not start.

Can you recomend me which memories to buy? I need 8GB and I would like to buy a good ones.
I saw these on the GSkill web:

    -F3-8500CL7D-8GBRL (4Gx2)

    -F3-10666CL7D-4GBRH (2Gx2)

Do you have the latest BIOS? Test one module at a time to see if one performs differently. This memory should work.

    Thank you

      Hi again,

Yes I have the latest BIOS and I tested both modules one by one and the system does not start, it freezes on Windows logo (loading) screen.

Should I try changing the frequency or the clocl latency values manually? I do not know how to do that.
Are you sure that F3-10666CL7-8GBXH memories are compatible with my P45 chipset motherboard?

      Thank you.

Which set of sticks do you actually have? Check base timings are at 7-7-7-21, DRAM Voltage 1.5, CR (Command Rate) at 2T, sticks in slots 1-3 (may have to raise your NB voltage a tad, say + .07 to carry the 4GB sticks

          Hi Tradesman,

I do not understand your first question. For the other thing you mention... I have all in "auto" in the bios, I checked and the latency says 9-9-9-24 and more numbers, but if I try in manual and put 7-7-7-21 it freezes too.
DRAM voltage is in 1.50v. And I tried putting then on first slot only one by one, on second, on third... but the system does not start.

Might try testing each stick individually with Memtest, if one or the other test bad, then that's the problem, if it's freezing up at the Windows logo could be a corrupt Windows,,,,,,,,,,do you have another stick or two of DRAM you can try

              Dear GSKILL TECH,

              Finally I bought this memories:
              -F3-10666CL7D-4GBRH (2Gx2)
              http://www.gskill.com/products.php?index=223

But I get the same error, it freezes on Windows logo skin. I look at the package of the memories and it says that they are designed for Intel 1155 socket, but mine is 775.
On the web I can see that this memories are compatible with my motherboard Asus P5Q3, so what can be the problem? Are they really compatible or are they only for 1155 sockets?

              Thank you

They should work, may be a corrupt Windows, could also try raising the DRAM voltage .04 or the NB Voltage .05

Did you input the timings and settings in BIOS?

                  Thank you
