  • F3-17000CL11D-8GBXL issues

    Hi all.

I just got myself F3-17000CL11D-8GBXL kit. I am using an Asus P8z68-v pro motherboard with the 2600k cpu.

The bios is the latest 606. I had the previous version but upgraded thinking it would fix this issue.

In my bios the memory shows targeted memory of 2133 and the timings show as 11 11 11 30. XMP is on and set to profile 1 and it shows as 2133

    In cpu-z under Memory it shows as Dram freq 1066 FSBram 1:8 11 11 11 30 2t

Under spd for each module it shows as
    Max Bandwidth PC3-12800 (800)MHZ

Am I missing something in the bios to get it to read the correct speeds?

    Dual Chanell 1066 x 2 = 2133 (I rounded up because it is 2132)

Max Bandwith is not 800, so CPU-Z is wrong; it is 1066. You have your timings set to spec, so you are good to go. Enjoy your ram!

BWG, I thought that would be the case of 1066 x 2 but when I saw PC3-12800 as the max bandwidth, I was thinking that maybe something was wrong

Thanks so much for the help. :-0

"Max Bandwidth" in the SPD tab shows the max the memory can default to with AUTO settings. This means anything above 800MHz (DDR3-1600) requires manual settings, or XMP must be enabled.

"DRAM Frequency" in the memory tab, is what the memory is actually operating at. Everything in the memory tab is what the computer is operating at. The SPD only shows informational values.

1066MHz (real frequency) is correct in DRAM Frequency. DDR (effective frequency) is double data rate, so 1066MHz x 2 is DDR3-2133. It is not DDR3-2133MHz

Feel free to ask any questions.

        Thank you
