  • F3-17000CL11Q-16GBXL and Asus Crosshair V

First I would like to ask if this set compatible with the board as i had the 1600 set and it was and now that got the 2133 it wont boot.

I reset Cmos and have 0506 bios and still have issues.

I bought it so when 8 core comes out I could OC.

    Any suggestions?

May have to set and run at lower speed, have no idea what CPU you currently have or what OC you are running....and an OC is required to run at 2133. Suggest try running at 1600 for now to be able to check the sticks

Pls offer comments on support I provide, HERE, in order to help me do a better job here:

Don't forget you have to raise CPU-NB Voltage to stabilize the memory.

        Hi,

I have the same problem. After installing the Rams, the PC won't boot at all, not even Bios.

After clearing the CMos and hitting reset a few times, I sometimes get a screen where it says that no devices are detected. A few seconds later the enter the Bios screen appears, but I am not able to enter it as the PC freezes.

Is there any way to fix this or do I have to use different rams?

What mobo (and BIOS) and CPU are you running?

              What PSU are you using?
Try posting with only stick installed, in the slot farthest away from the CPU.
If you can post, then manually enter your memory timings and voltage in the bios.
If still no post, install another stick in it's place, and repeat this procedure if necessary.

I am using a Corsair 850 Watt PSU.

                Your trick worked!

                I can enter Bios.

But I can not manually select the Memory Frequency. The maximum is 1600 Mhz (and not 2133).

                I changed:

DRam CAS # Latency CHB to 11
DRam RAS to CAS Delay to 11
DRam Ras PRE Time to 11
DRam Ras ACT Time to 30

and adjusted the volt to 1.5

However there are a lot of DRam settings where I have no Idea what the values should be, since there is no information on the rams:

                DRam READ to PRE Time
                DRam RAS to RAS Delay
                DRam write to read Delay
                DRAM CAS # write Latency
                DRam write recovery time
                DRam Ref cycle time
                DRam Row cycle time
                DRam Read to write delay
Dram write to read delay (DDO
                DRam write to write timing
                DRam Read to read timing
                DRam Refresh rate
                DRam Command Rate

There are other DRam settings that I found:

DRAM Voltage is set to 1,49
                VDDR to 1,20
                DRAM VREFDQ
                DRAM VREFCA
                DRAM VREFCA on CPU
                DRAM Voltage Switching Frequency
                DRAM Voltage Over-Current Protection

How do I manage to set the Frequency to 2133 Mhz? Thank you for your help

Just leave all other memory timings on Auto.
2133MHz is not native to AMD boards, speeds above 1600 wil require increasing/overclocking the CPU clock (or FSB).
2133MHz will need a CPU clock of 266MHz, but keep in mind you will also be increasing the CPU/NB and HT Link frequencies as well.

Achieving 2133 is unlikely with any current Phenom II CPU, even the Thuban (X8).
I was able to get 2087MHz with my 1090T on my Crosshair IV Formula.
From what has been leaked so far, Bulldozer X8 should be able to handle 2133 memory.

                    thanks for reply.

I tried other Rams (Corsair Vengence 1866) and was able to install windows.

Unfortunately the system freezes for like 30 sekonds and then responds and freezes again.

This Thursday I will get 1333 mhz ram from a friend. I hope that it will work than.

As I said, I can only select 1600 mhz and nothing above. Will I be able to change this value with the new generation Bulldozer processors, to at least 1866 or do I have to change this manually.

What I don't understand is, the board supports rams up to 2133, so why doen't it recognize the rams? (At least the Corsairs should be recognized since it figuers in the user manual).

                    Thanks

Like I said above, speeds above 1600MHz will require manually increasing the CPU clock above 200MHz (default).

Meaning overclocking is required to reach those frequencies, so you must have some sort of knowledge to even attempt it. It is not plug and play simply because the motherboard says it can support it.

Try these settings if you are not familiar with overclocking:

                        Set DRAM Frequency to DDR3-1600

                        CPU-NB Frequency 2400MHz

                        CPU-NB Voltage 1.20V

                        DRAM Voltage 1.65V

                        DRAM Timings 7-8-7-24

                        Thank you

Hi, many thanks for your help. I changed the values and he seems to boot fine with 16gb installed.

I will report back later if everything works fine.

In another forum someone said: "make sure command Rate is set to 2T"

This could be in relation with another corsair memory, since I bought another set of rams this week (it figures in the official supported memory sticks in the manual, so I tought they must work out of the box...).

Do I also have to change the command rate on the g.skill memorys?

Another question: If everything works fine, can I leave the values like they are and overclock the CPU to 4.0 ghz? Or do I have to change the timings as well? (I know that I have to change the FSB and multiplicator).

Many thanks again, you saved me a lot of trouble

                          //Edit//

Hm, the system is booting and I don't get blue screens, but something is strange.
Windows doesn't seem to respond normally. I can move the mouse but as soon as I click on something it takes like 3 minutes before it happens. Like I can klick on My computer, I have to wait a few moments, than I open my Drivers disc and click on install. Than it takes very long before he opens the setup file.

It also takes long to open the control panel etc.

The system however is not freezing or temporary freezing. Everything just seems very very slow.

                          //Edit 2//

OK everything seems to work fine. Chipset drivers solved the problem.

Thank you again, you really saved my day

Most AMD boards default to 1T Command Rate, make sure you manually set it to 2T.

Leave all memory timings where they are when overclocking your CPU....good luck.

That is a Black Edition unlocked CPU, so you just need to raise CPU Ratio to overclock CPU frequency. It is seperate from memory, so you can just leave memory.

                              Thank you
