I'm planning on upgrading my PC when socket 2011 comes out.

But I need to buy new ram right now 1 stick died after 2yrs of abuse. I was wondering if I bought 2 dual channel kits of Ripjaw X if I can run them tripple channel on my x58 platform if I leave 1 stick out until I get my quad channel setup when x79/s2011 is released.

Should be able to get them to work, but no guarantee with two sets, best bet would be to go ahead and get a 4 stick set that's been tested to all work together
