  • What setting to use for F3-14900CL9D-8GBXL at 1333/1600?

    G.Skill Ripjaws X F3-14900CL9D-8GBXL

Here is the SPD table, which I don't fully understand why the value is not the typical standard memory frequency like 533/666/800 but some odd numbers..

    457MHz - 6-6-6-16
    533MHz - 7-7-7-19
    609MHz - 8-8-8-22
    685MHz - 9-9-9-24
    761MHz - 10-10-10-27
    838MHz - 11-11-11-30
    933MHz - 9-10-9-28 (XMP)

When I set my RAM speed at 1600 and dram setting at Auto, I got the lousy timing of 11-11-11-30, I would like to know what timing I should/can use if I am running this memory at 1600 (on P55) or 1333 (on H67)

Do you have the latest BIOS? Regardless, with these sticks should be able to run frequencies you indicate (both using 1.5 DRAM Voltage and CR of 2T) for 1600 9-9-9-28 and 1333 at 8-8-8-25, in both cases you might well be able to drop the CL by 1 i.e. might be able to run 1333 at 7-8-8-25 or thereabouts and may be able to run at 1600 with 8-8-8-26 (in both alter instances may have to raise DRAM voltage a hair (maybe .05)

Pls offer comments on support I provide, HERE, in order to help me do a better job here:

I can only get this set to run at 1600 stable w/ a lousy 9-9-9-24-2T timing..
When changed to 8-8-8-24-2T, got bunch of errors within minutes of running memtest86+

Really disappointed, you would think if the set can run 1866 stable w/ 9-10-9-28-2T, then should have no problem running at tight timing at 1600..

What motherboard and CPU? What DRAM Voltage are you using?

        Thank you

          Tested on Asus P8P67 PRO & i5-2500K

1600/8-8-8-24-2T@1.5v = bunch of errors within minutes

          1600/9-9-9-24-2T@1.5v = stable

          1866/9-10-9-28-2T@1.5v = stable

For reference purpose & to make sure it is not the motherboard, I borrowed a friend's CMZ8GX3M2A1600C8 (corsair vengeance ddr3-1600 8gb c8 kit)
Had no problem running the corsair with 1600/8-8-8-24-2T@1.5v

Because tRCD (second number) should be 9.
