I bought a new motherboard, the above Asus Sabertooth 990FX. There was no QVL on the Asus web site nor would the memory configurator give me an option for this board. I took a flyer because I wanted to get it running and bought Ripjaws F3-12800CL9Q-16GBXL 4 x 4GB as I wanted 16GB of RAM.
Now that I have the manual I note that nothing is listed for 4 x 4GB. What is listed is F3-12800CL9D-8GBRL, 2 x 4GB.
Timings are the same 9-9-9-24 at 1.5v.
Can someone tell me the differences between these? I assume the D is for dual and the Q is for quad. The XL and RL I don't know.
