    Hi,

I am new to ram OC and I have some F3-12800CL9D-8GBRL or XL (do not know exactly) and would like to know if some one of you already use them istead of 1600Mhz with 1866Mhz - if yes, waht are your settings? Or Do you need to know if it is RL or XL? Would be happy about any suggestions.

    Kind Regards,

No problem at all, you just need to use a higher voltage (1.65V), or raise the second timings up one.

    9-10-9-24 will be no problem.

    Thank you

      I have the 2x4GB 1866 RipjawsX set with 9-10-9-28 timings@ 1.50v.
Can I run these at say 2133MHz with 9-11-9-28 timings and/or would I need 1.65v as well?
I really never gave this much thought until I saw this post, sparked a high level of interest.

Gave it a shot at 2100MHz, no post.
Then tried 2000MHz, posted ok, but BSOD on Windows startup.
The Crosshair V has some major issues with running high frequency memory.
My 2x4GB RipjawsX ran fine at 1907MHz (285 CPU clock) with stock voltage & timings on the Crosshair IV.
Can't even get them to run at 1907Mhz on the Crosshair V.

Not sure if has to do with the new 990 chipset or the board itself.
Could also be due to the fact that the 990 chipset was designed for Bulldozer.

Hopefully they get it ironed out with upcoming bios updates.

Ok update, bumped up the CPU/NB and memory voltage and set the tRC to 40...
I'm now in Windows writing this message with the 1866 CL9 set running at 2000MHz.
This is with my NB@ 3000MHz.

Huge learning curve with this new EUFI bios and the Crosshair V.
