  • amd 1100t with G.SKILL Ripjaws X F3-17000CL11D-8GBXL?

Just wondering if anyone has used the combo of the G.SKILL Ripjaws X F3-17000CL11D-8GBXL ram kit with and AMD Phenom II 1100T. On the G.Skill product description it stated this ram was designed for use with Intel processors. I've already planned out my new system (obviously not well enough ;p ) and have purchased the ram and will by buying my mainboard and processor in 2 weeks. Any info would be appreciated

    Cheers

    Jim

All that means is that it was tested on an Intel platform, so no worries.
Most memory kits can run on both AMD and Intel systems.
Just make sure to manualy enter the memory timings and voltage in your bios.

But beware, you probably won't be able to run at 2133Mhz because of the Thuban IMC limitation.

Best I could do with a similiar (CL9) set was 2067MHz with my 1090T.
    AMD Phenom II X6 1090T@ 4.2GHz
Corsair H50 Hydro (push/pull intake fans)
    ASUS Crosshair V Formula
    2x4GB G.Skill RipjawsX@ 1975MHz, 9-10-9-28 (2T)
    SLI: 2x EVGA GTX 570's@ 902/1804/2032
    Creative SB X-Fi Xtreme Gamer
    Corsair HX850W Modular
Cooler Master HAF 922 (200mm side fan)
    2x Win 7 Home Premium (x64)

gskill's flare series RAM is AMD tested. I would recommend those modules over the ripjaws x.

True, but the Flares are very hard to find these days.

I can vouch for the RipjawsX, they run perfectly fine on AMD chipsets.

You know it man! I have ripjawsx but only for my intel-based platform. I can always swap them to run on my AMD computer (I have a 1055T so perhaps I can OC further considering the speed of the modules).
