Is there any difference between these 2 sets of ram?
    F3-12800CL9D-8GBXL and F3-12800CL9D-8GBRL

    links are
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-428-_-Product
    and
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-314-_-Product

The listed specs seem the same in every aspect, but one has a slightly different heat sink, and says "designed for sandy bridge cpus or 2nd generation intel cpu's". Does this mean it won't work as well with amd, or are they both the same? The reason I ask is that first one is on sale right now.

My current ram is F3-12800CL9D-4GBRL, motherboard is Asus M4A785TD-M EVO, processor is AMD Phenom 965, 3.4ghz quad core.

The Ripjaws X is designed for the P67 chipset but works fine with other chipsets as well. The F3-12800CL9D-4GBRL is part of the original Ripjaws line and also works well with basically all chipsets. Either should be fine with the 965 and the EVO.......might check the stickie on 1600 DRAM and AMD, can help you with setup

Pls offer comments on support I provide, HERE, in order to help me do a better job here:
