    G'day guys,

Been having dramas with BSOD's and random crashes.

    My system is:

    -M4A89GTD PRO
    -AMD 965 140W BLACK EDTION REVISION C2
    -SAPPHIRE 6870
    -2 X 4GB F3-12800CL9D-8GBRL 1600Mhz ram
    -1TB SEAGATE 7200RPM HDD
    -650W PSU

Have updated all drivers and bios.

After playing with everything in my comp i have come to the conclusion that the ram is to blame. And after adjusting some settings and getting close to stable i'd put money on the ram.

Anyway, have been having BSOD when running file verification within steam with a memory management error displaying on the BSOD.

Followed the settings on the DDR3 1600 sticky, it helped a little but am still getting crashes and blue screens. I have also manually tried setting the ram rates and came reasonably close to stable at 8-8-8-24 @ 1333mhz. I did not change any cpu settings and tried the ram voltage on 1.5v and auto, auto seemed to be more stable.

If i could be pushed further into the right direction i would be grateful.

Also, have tested both sticks by themselves and they both pass diagnostic tests.

    Cheers

    Alan

    Hi alfish,

have you already updated to the latest BIOS?
Please try to use Memtest to test.
Please test one stick at a time and let me know the result.

      Bios and the such.

Yep latest BIOS. Ran MEMCHECK86 on both sticks all good.

It seems when i put them in dual channel config things start to go wrong.

After testing i turned the comp off. Hit the auto mem config on my asus board and am gonna test that way. It popped the freq to 1333 and the sideport freq to 1333 which i didn't see in the bios prior. Maybe that was the problem.

Seems ok for the moment, passing all tests. No BSOD when heavy loading either.

        All bad again

        Nope, no good.

Crashes again, have tried playing with the voltages.

now i'm just using one stick and will probably pick up some different ram.

i'm not interested in OC'ing it. all i want is a computer that runs properly

Send them in for RMA to see if a new kit works better.

          Thank you

            rma

            True.

The only reason i am reluctant is it takes about one month here in australia to get an RMA done.

So will have to buy some cheapo kingston 4gb ram to get me by.

            Argghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.
