  • F3-12800CL9D-4GBNQ on ASRock 870 Extreme3

    Hey,

ive got 2 sticks of F3-12800CL9D-4GBNQ (4 gig total)
    ASrock 870 Extreme 3 mobo
    AMD Phenom II 965 BE

I am having trouble setting up the ram in bios. Right now its running at 573 mhz at 7 7 7 20 (all on Auto). The bios only has frequency options of 430 (860), 573 (1146), 716 (1132) or 860 (1720).

If i try and change the frequency higher than 573 when the computer reboots it changes all my bios settings back to default and the ram ends up back on 573.

The voltage is on auto and its sitting at 1.54v

I tried the guide for setting up 1600 ram on AMD but couldn't find where to change the CPU Host/BUS frequency to 240 and seeing as there is no 1333 option in my bios i didnt want to mess around too much.

    Any advice?

    Cheers

Load BIOS defaults first. You already have something overclocked causing the frequency to be off.

      Thanks for your reply.

I worked out it was the ASrock UCC, when it was turned on it wouldn't let me change the ram frequency. Its turned off now (I don't need it on for my cpu) and my ram is running as follows.

      DRAM Frequency: 860 MHz
      FSB : DRAM: 1:4
      CL: 9
      tRCD: 9
      tPR: 9
      tRAS: 24
      tRC: 40
      CR: 2T

Pulled these figures out of CPU-Z. How does that look to you? I havent had any issues with it yet but haven't spent much time on the computer since i changed it.

        Looks great, 860MHz x 2 = DDR3-1720 = 7.5% OC

        Thank you
