  • Overclocking Ripjaws

I bought a set of Ripjaws not too long ago ( F3-12800CL9-4GBRL ). They work great and I'm plenty happy with them. I've since been tweaking my system and I can't seem to get a whole lot out of this RAM. What are the safe voltages for it? I have it at 1.65v for testing various settings. Right now I'm at 1.72GHz with 9-9-9-24-1T timings. If I try to go 8-9-8-24-1T the computer starts going crazy. Games crash and World Community Grid starts throwing computation errors.

I'm just wondering if someone knows the highest MHz you can go with 8-9-8-24-1T or what kinda volts you need to get there. Would it be able to do 1.68GHz with 8-9-8-24-1T and 1.65v? Thanks.

Each kit is slightly different, so that's something you need to test.

You may want to try something like.. 8-10-8-24 to achieve higher frequencies. It should be capable of 8-9-8-24 1.65V @ DDR3-1680..

    Thank you

Thanks I just needed a rough guideline of what *should* be possible. I got 1.68Ghz with 8-9-8-24-1T and 1.65v by lowering my FSB to 210 and using the 8x multi. I'm going to tweak it further
