  • Faulty Memory Stick F3-12800CL9D-4GBRL

I've bought 2x (2x2GB) memory sticks (F3-12800CL9D-4GBRL) from Newegg last June.

My system sometimes restarts while windows is loading, sometimes while playing a game, or browsing the internet.

I decided to run Memtest+ to check my RAM and found that 1 stick (2GB) gives me errors during the test, and the other three don't.

    My System Configuration:
    Gigabyte Triton 180 Case
    Intel Core i7-875k 2.83Ghz
    Gigabyte GA-P55A-UD3P
    G.Skill 4x 2GB F3-12800CL9D-4GBRL
    EVGA GTX 470 Superclocked Edition
    Tuniq Tower 120 Extreme
    OCZ Agaility 60GB SSD
    Samsung 320GB HDD
    Seagate Barracuda 500GB

    Here's my test procedure:

I'll refer to each stick by the last 2 digits of its Serial Number, so they'll be 09, 10, 15, and 16. All tests were performed at stock speeds and settings except for a CPU voltage of 1.25.

    Memory Speed 1333Mhz

So, as you can see that Stick 15 a faulty, I've had this problem from the first day I got them but I didn't have time to deal with this issue, I used a 11-11-11-24 timing for about 8 months.

Here's some screenshots of my BIOS for current working configuration (only Sticks 09, 10, and 16 are used):

I live in Jordan, and my brother bought them for me when he was in the US then brought them back home with him when he came back, they are not physically damaged and still look brand new.

So, what should I do now? Where is the closest RMA Address to my location (Jordan-Middle East)?

    Thanks in advanced.

Thanks for your quick reply. I just have a couple of questions.

Should I RMA the 2 Sticks that came together(2x2GB Package) although one of them is not faulty? If so, should I write both Serial Numbers in the RMA Form?

      Regards,

Prob best to do both if you can, that way you get a set back that is tested to work together - can ref your post, this is it below:

Thank Tradesman, I've sent the RMA people a request and included a link to this post.

Hope to hear from them soon.

          Regards.

They are pretty good with turn-around, bad news is that they normally don't work weekends so may not expect a response till Monday (though they do on occasion pop in over the weekends - guess it depends on ongoing workload (i.e. if it needs to get done, they do it)
