Alright here goes! I have:
MSI 790FX-GD70 AM3 AMD 790FX ATX AMD Motherboard
AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition Deneb 3.4GHz 4 x 512KB L2 Cache 6MB L3 Cache Socket AM3 140W Quad-Core Processor
SAPPHIRE Vapor-X 100269VXLE Radeon HD 4890 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card
Running 2 of the vid cards in Crossfire X
KINGWIN Mach 1 ABT-1000MA1S 1000W ATX / BTX SLI Certified CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply
Just so you know I have plenty of juice for it
All that was pulled straight from Newegg titles, the MB has been upgraded to the latest BIOS as of yesterday also to try and fix a freezing issue I keep having. It didn't help so I'm replacing the RAM to see if that does it.
I'm looking at getting 16 gigs of RAM, Not a big issue on the price really, just would like to be around $200-250 if possible, never overclocked before even though I've had the perfect set up for it, probably going to start messing with it after I liquid cool the CPU, VGA's and RAM though. Any input would be greatly appreciated as I know nothing about GSkill RAM just read a lot of good things about it so figured I would give it a whirl.
For those that are interested in my old RAM I was running
Crucial Ballistix Tracer 6GB (3 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory w/ Red LEDs Model BL3KIT25664TR1608
Yes I know it was triple channel but I was super tired when I ordered it and didn't think about it till it was installed.
