BSODs everywhere.
I keep on getting BSODs, i updated my drivers and os, but still, it keeps on getting BSOD (after 2 - 3hours)
I think, the reason behind this is my ram (ripjaws 1600 cl9 2x2gb)
What should I do? Especially with the bios, (I followed the instructions and still, I'm still geting BSODs.
My Specs:
CPU - AMD Llano A6-3500 (Tri-Core, 2.1mhz with HD6530 graphics)
MB - Gigabyte A55M-DS2
RAM - GSkill Ripjaws 2x2gb 1600mhz CL9
HDD - 500GB Seagate 7200.12rpm 16mb SATA
PSU - 460W (Bundled with Cooler Master 371)
Experts, geniuses, what could be the problem? (and the solution? )

to see what size PSU is recommended. You can also find other PSU calculators (Google PSU + calculator).
BTW, note the following statement at the Asus PSU calculator, above; "Please ensure to use power supply unit capable of outputting over the calculated recommended wattage to prevent system instability, random reset, unexpected shutdown, or similar problems caused due to insufficient power.", which pretty much describes the problem you are having.
If you do decide you need a new PSU, be aware that all PSUs with same wattage are not the same. I've burned out and replaced a lot of PSUs over the years. I'm currently using an Antec PSU; and by and large I think they make good reliable PSUs.
Perhaps Tradesman will pop in with his recommendations for a good PSU manufacturer, as he is a system builder and obviously has a great deal of experience with this.

The 9-9-9-24 setting actually carries a tRC setting of 40 (XMP-1600), and based on my limited understanding of the working effect of memory timings, I think the 9-9-9-28-37 is just a little faster (the tRC setting is an overall time performance limiting factor as I understand it). Even so the 9-9-9-28-37 timings have been rock solid stable (knock on wood).

@Sage101,
Glad to hear the timings are working for you. Thanks for the positive feedback.
@Tradesman,
Do you have any recommendations for PSU manufacturers? I'm sure that somewhere down the road I'll be buying another PSU. Would love to have the benefit of your recommendations when that day arrives.
Best regards to all.

sir nymnym, i removed 1 ram stick and i've got no bsods. what could probably be the reason for this? thanks for the replies. and btw, the recommended wattage is 300
P.S. To Sir Sage101, any recommended psu sir? tier 2, tier 2b, or tier 3 (not that expensive but good.) (my current PSU is CM 460W 80+ Bronze.)Last edited by lunaticmik; 07-08-2012, 12:28 PM.
