  • Looking for BIOS settings for F3-16000CL9T-12GBRM to run at @ DDR3-1600 on ASUS P6X58

    Hello,

I am completely new to OCing and am looking to try to get my RAM to stabalize at DDR3 1600 - it defaults to DDR3 1066 out of the box.

    My system specs are:

    G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 12GB (3 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 2000 (PC3 16000) Desktop Memory Model F3-16000CL9T-12GBRM

ASUS P6X58D-E LGA 1366 Intel X58 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

    Intel Core i7-950 Bloomfield 3.06GHz LGA 1366 130W Quad-Core Processor BX80601950

    Running Windows 7 Ultimate x64

Thank you in advance for your help, I am not looking to run the modules at DDR3 2000, just at DDR3 1600 with tighter timings. If anyone has had any luck or has any suggestions I would greatly appreciate it.

Should be able to enable XMP and run it at 1600 that way or manually load speed, base timings, DRAM voltage and CR to 2

Pls offer comments on support I provide, HERE, in order to help me do a better job here:

      Tman-

Thanks for the input, turning XMP on seems to have done the trick - simple enough where even a novice like I could handle it. It actually set the profile to DDR3-2000. I am just checking the stability with Memtest now, but I think that may be it.

I had one more quick question, I was planning on eventually boosting the total RAM package to 24 GB, do you think I will have to alter the speed at all?

      Thanks again, take care.

Most likely you will need to alter speed, or increase QPI/VTT Voltage to support 24GB @ the frequency and timings.

        Thank you

          All-

Memtest cycled through a few times and everything seems to be stable and realatively cool, so thank you both very much. You were both very helpful. Take care.
