  • F3-12800CL9D-4GBRL Tightest Timing

    System Specs:
    CPU: Intel i5 760
    Motherboard: Asus P7P55D-E LX
    Memory: 8GB, F3-12800CL9D-4GBRL CL9 @ 1.5V

    Question:
My system is OC'ed and running at a BCLK of 180Mhz. The memory modules are running at a multiplier of x 8, running at 1440MHz, with a memory timing of CL9 (9-9-9-24) @ 1.50V.

These modules are rated up to 1600Mhz @ CL9 according to the spec sheets. Since I have the modules down-clocked a bit, I was wondering what the tightest memory timing is that I can run with these modules?

Try it out, 8-8-8-24 1.60V should be OK. You can then try 7-8-7-24 1.65V. Every kit is slightly different, so to know what your memory is capable of, that's for you to test and find out.

    Thank you

Thanks for the reply! Just another quick question. In theory, what is the faster module: a module running at 1440MHz with a timing of 7-8-7-24 or one at 1600MHz with a timing of 9-9-9-24?

        DDR3-1440 CL7

Download a memory benchmark test and you can see the exact difference.
