  • DDR3 X.M.P. and Sabertooth x58 Problem

So I recently built my first computer ( 2 days ago )and just now ran into my first real problem it seems.

I've had X.M.P. enabled on the DDR3 RAM I purchased from Newegg.com and just recently after putting it into sleep mode for a bit and then trying to wake it, the comp crashed. I restarted the computer several hours later after I returned home and after booting it said overclocking failed, and told me to adjust the bios.

At this moment I'm currently running the X.M.P. again and it seems to be working fine, but if anyone could help me find the source of this issue, that would be great.

    System Specs:

    Intel Core i7 950 1366
    ASUS Sabertooth x58
    G.SKILL Ripjaws PC3-12800 3x4GB ( F3-12800CL9T-12GBRL)
    Corsair CMPSU-850TX
    Western Digital Caviar 1TB

    Current BIOS:

Also if anyone has suggestions to optimize my system I'll take whatever I can get!

    Thank you for your time,

    QPI/DRAM Core Voltage [1.40000]

ASUS BIOS automatically sets this with XMP enabled. I guess too many people complained, so they just plugged in a random number. Well, obviously it just causes a slightly different type of problem.

Set that option to AUTO, or lower it to see what's most stable. 1.20V should be a better guess.

    Thank you
