  • F3-12800CL7T-6GBPI on P67 MB compatibility ?

    Hello Gskill forum..first post here
    I just ordered F3-12800CL7T-6GBPI for my upgrade (Phenom IIx4 940) to ASUS P6X58D Premium(not yet purchased),but after i stumbled across this thread here i'm leaning toward P67/SB
    My quarry ;is this set of RAM will properly work on one of this MB's ;

    Yes, but both are dual channel, so a dual channel or quad channel kit would be recommended. For the P6X58D, the 6GBPI would be recommended since it is a triple channel motherboard.

    Thank you

      Yes they are both dual channel ..i could just add one more stick for total 8GB or use only 2 sticks right?
      Thanks

        Well, yes, but there are no single modules sold. So unless you know 6GB is absolutely enough, a dual channel kit would be recommended.

          yes.. i just realize that after looking all over the net,may have to go with P6X58D premium..don't know if thats the right choice (X58 is still hell of a platform) ,it's kind of sad ,after waiting so long to upgrade

                  Unfortunately no, that's why we highly recommend people to purchase a dual channel kit for a dual channel motherboard, and a triple channel kit for a triple channel motherboard. Unless you are certain you will never need more memory, but it's just no fun to be in this sticky situation.

                  Thank you

                          hey Tman I opted to keep this set ( looks like new LGA2011 platform is going to be triple channel) and love it
                          Thanks again
