  • Is anyone running 24 GiB in a Dell Studio XPS 435 MT?

    I'm ready to buy a F3-10666CL9T2-24GBRL 24 GiB six-pack for a Dell XPS 435 MT (mini-tower).

Has anyone tried this combination to see if it works? There are a number of posts on the web that the Dell BIOS is finicky about the characteristics of the DIMMs, and rejects memory that works fine in other X58 boards.

    thanks in advance

Should work just fine, plug and play.

Does not work in XPS 435 - returning to Newegg

This memory does not work in a Dell XPS 435MT. (Dell BIOS issue, memory is fine.)

      Removed 6 * 2 GiB modules.

Installed 3 * 4 GiB modules in slots 1/2/3. (Make sure that 3 modules works before trying 6.)

      (Slot numbering is [CPU] [B-4] [W-1] [B-5] [W-2] [B-6] [W-3] )

Beep-beep, beep-beep, beep-beep. (Two beeps means "no RAM".)

Removed slots 2 and 3. Boots fine, BIOS reports 4 GiB of 1333 memory.

      Installed second DIMM in slot 2. Beep-beep, beep-beep, beep-beep.

Tried the three modules one at a time is slot 1. All three came up fine, 4 GiB of 1333.

No combination of two modules would work. Nor three.

It's a Dell problem - I'll RMA the set back to Newegg.

Unfortunately the Dell systems are restrictive in their BIOS settings availability toallow for tuning 3rd party add ons, they want you to buy from them

Pls offer comments on support I provide, HERE, in order to help me do a better job here:

Thanks - I wish that the first reply had said that, the mistake cost me a $55 restocking fee.
