  • F3-16000CL9T-12GBRM + F3-16000CL9T-6GBTD with Asus P6T Settings?

Hey there, I recently purchased F3-16000CL9T-12GBRM and wanted to add it to my F3-16000CL9T-6GBTD. No matter what settings I've tried I can't get it to detect 18GB total (both sets of ram). Not even sure if it's possible or not but I'd like to get both sets running at decent speeds.

I have an ASUS P6T SE LGA 1366 Intel X58 ATX Intel Motherboard, with the i7 920, running windows 7 x64 ultimate. I would appreciate it if someone would give me the correct BIOS settings to run these. I can get the 12GB to show up properly but the other 6 in the channel 2 slots don't show up at all. CPU-Z lists my ram at 18432 MBytes but windows only registers at 12GB.

If for whatever reason I can't run the full 18GB can I please have the proper BIOS settings for the F3-16000CL9T-12GBRM Ripjaws Series ram and my system. Thanks in advance! =)

Try loading the 12GB set first and check it out (does it boot okay, no BSODs, etc) then add the six GB set. Will have to set timings manually, probably to the looses set's timings. Will probably have to set some of the sub-timings manually also (like tRFC, as this is not a standard setup and the sticks don't run the same timings.

May want to post your BIOS settings if further help needed, these oddball combos can be a bear

Yeah, they work just fine, I've even got some odd combos to show up like 10GB which is impossible without detecting some of each but not all of both. I'm fine running at the slightly slower timings (the 9-10-9-28) so long as all 18GB shows up. As of right now my BIOS is updated to the newest version and set on default showing the 12GB set only.

Can you give me an example of what I should set manually to hopefully get both sets to show with "loose" settings? So far either nothing shows, I get a BSOD, or only 12GB or less shows up.

First, what CPU and speed are you running, you show a 320, so I'm guessing a 920 and would suggest first a little extra voltage to the MC, maybe (.05) and try the DRAM at 1.625, and timings at 9-10-10-28. If no go, pls post BIOS settings or maybe try dropping speed to 1800

Okay, here are the settings I put in and here is what shows up according to CPU-Z (Note: still only getting 12GB to show. Also; only some of the increments go by .2 so I can't get it exact such as the IOH Voltage and CPU PLL Voltage.)

          Ai Overclock Tuner - Manual
          CPU Ratio Setting - 16
          Intel SpeedStep Tech - Disabled
          BCLK Frequency - 200
          DRAM Frequency - DDR3-2005
          UCLK Frequency - 4009MHz
QPI Link Data Rate - AUTO

          DRAM Timing Control
          CAS Latency - 9
          tRCD - 10
          tRP - 10
          tRAS - 28
          Command Rate - 2N

          CPU Voltage - 1.30V
          CPU PLL Voltage - 1.86V
          QPI/DRAM Core Voltage - 1.625V
          IOH Voltage - 1.36V
          IOH PCIE Voltage - 1.6V
          ICH Voltage - 1.20V
          ICH PCIE Voltage - 1.60V
          DRAM Bus Voltage - 1.66V

          Load Line Calibration - Disabled

The difference in IC chips may be causing them not to work properly on the same motherboard. Triple channel is very picky with memory detection, which is why so many people have a problem.

AT my advice, your setup should never work properly especially at 2000 speed ...

can you see 18 GB at standart speed ? (1333)

Differents ram modules / kits / and here also different chips in six slots configuration will always encounter problems with x58 setup. you need a 6 modules kit with the same ram type.

i have experienced that two kits of 6GB with the same ram type by exemple may not work together @ full speed but only @ 1333 or max 1600.

Always buy 12GB kit for 12GB setup or 24 GB kit for 24GB setup.

9 or 18GB setup are mixed setups and normally that's not supported by asus.

use only the 12GB kit it's better to reach 2000 mhz with overclocked cpu
