Correct BIOS settings for F3-12800CL9D-4GBNQ on a GIGABYTE 890FXA-UD5
I have tried to configure my BIOS settings for F3-12800CL9D-4GBNQ to obtain the advertised 1600MHz speed.

My system configuration is as follows:

    Processor: AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition 3.2GHz Socket AM3 125W
    Mother board: GIGABYTE 890FXA-UD5
    Memory: G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model F3-12800CL9D-4GBNQ. 4 modules.

Currently the speed is being automatically recognized as 1333MHz. Tried all sorts of settings without success so far. Updated BIOS and still can not make it stable. What are the settings that I have to configure in BIOS. I have Phenom II x4 955. Do i have to overclock it?

No, you just need to set memory multiplier to 1:4 for DDR3-1600.

    Timings to tCL 9 - tRCD 9 - tRP 9 - tRAS 24

    DRAM Voltage to 1.50V

    CPU-NB Voltage 1.20V

Once that is done, everything should be stable.

    Thank you

I tried suggested settings and I still get lock ups and prime95 gives me rounding error. Memtest86 v+4.1 no errors.

Manually set your CPU voltage somewhere between 1.32 and 1.35v

Set your DRAM voltage to 1.50v

Set your CPU - NB voltage to 1.25v

        Reboot and retest
