    My [ ECO ] F3-12800CL7D-4GBECO (2Gx2)

    Shows up as max 1333mhz unless i use overclocking modes on the bios (wich im not comfortable using since they also boost FSB and cpu speed if i try setting the ram at its announced speed). I just want to run it as it suposed to, 1600mhz 78724 1.35 without having to overclock, but the bios only shows it at either 1000mhz or 1333 mhz by default

    On your board there are three ways you might attempt to use to get your memory running at it's rated speed;

    1. In the OC Tweaker BIOS Menu select DRAM Frequency and see if 1600Mhz is an option, if so choose that - save and reboot

    2. In the OC Tweaker BIOS menu select Load Memory EZ OC setting and choose 1600Mhz

    3. Choose a DRAM frequency of 1333 and increase your BCLK until your final DRAM frequency = 1600Mhz

      That's what i'd like to do, just choose the rated speed, however 1600mhz is not an option; unless i do 3) wich i dont feel comfortable with doing, id rather not do any overclocking to my cpu or fsb and just get the ram running at its rated speed

        In which case your best bet is to return the DDR3 1600 kit and exchange it for some DDR3 1333 RAM with tighter timings.

        What options are available in your Load Memory EZ OC settings?

          You need to do #3 since your CPU memory multi is 10X max.

          Simply set BCLK to 160, DRAM Freq to 1600. You can even reduce CPU Ratio if you are afraid of overclock, but the CPU will do just fine if you don't adjust it. It is a small overclock from 2.66 to 3.3.

          Thank you

            col2k3,

            a bclk of 160 is a walk in the park on that board. and as the gskill tech already pointed out you can reduce your cpu multiplier if you don't want to overclock the cpu.

            to me this seems like a lot better option to get the performance you're looking for without a lot of headache.

            and i can ensure you that this will not harm your components in any way. you shouldn't even have to increase any voltages to get to a blck of 160. pretty much just set it and forget it.
