  • Gigabyte GA-EX58-UD3R help

    Hi,

I am having trouble in that sometimes (but not always) windows 7 tells me I have 6GB of RAM but only 4GB is usable.

    I am using:

    Motherboard - GA-EX58-UD3R rev1.6
    RAM - F3-12800CL9T-6GBNQ
    CPU - i7 930

I have tried to use the BIOS settings from similar threads but none seem to correct the problem.

Any help with the settings would be much appreciated

    Kind Regards

Enable the XMP Profile to see if that helps. Also, try reseating the memory and make sure they are firmly inserted.

    Thank you

      No XMP profile

      Thanks for the advice.

The XMP profile is not displayed in the BIOS. Is there any reason for this?

      Thanks

It should be in the BIOS section titled M.I.T. (Motherboard Intelligent Tweaker). It's gotta be there.

That's weird. I'm looking at page 42 of your owners manual and it clearly shows that the XMP setting should be available as long as the installed memory supports it.

I'll get back with some settings that you can try.

            Regards,

              Bob,

              Try this;

Extreme Memory Profile [disabled/none/manual] which ever one fits your BIOS option
              System Memory Multiplier [12]
              Performance Enhance [Standard]
              DRAM Timing Selectable [Manual]
Change the following for Memory Channels A,B,C
              CAS [9]
              tRCD [9]
              tRP [9]
              tRAS [24]
              Command Rate [2]

Leave all other memory timings on auto

              Voltages
              CPU VCore [1.26v]
              QPI/VTT [1.26v]
              CPU PLL [1.86v]
              PCIe [1.60v]
              QPI PLL [1.20v]
              IOH Core [1.20v]
              ICH I/O [1.60v]
              ICH Core [1.20v]
              DRAM Voltage [1.56]

              BCLK [Auto]

If the above settings don't work, please post up pics or a template showing all of your BIOS settings so we can pick through them.
