    custom heatspreader?

    ok i want abit more cooling power on my i7
    something like the D14 or silverarrow but realise that the heatspreaders might be a bit to tall for it.
    is it possible to get hold of some smaller heatspreaders with the gskill heatspreader on?

    or am i being an idiot for thinking the ram in too tall?

    Well 6GB is no problem because you do not need to use the first slot from CPU.

    But if you want a guaranteed cooler that has no problem with 12GB, the Prolimatech Megahalem, Thermalright Ultra 120, or Thermalright True Black, will cool very well and not have any clearance problems.

      oh ok
      i was told that my ram is to tall
      i only have 6GB so i should be fine?

        Yes, since this motherboard uses the 2nd, 4th, and 6th slot first.
