  • jigsaw 2000mhz on AM3 setup?

    Im probably gonna buy these:

Asus M4A87TD EVO or M4A89TD it depends on which one that can make those DDR3 run at 2000mhz? 2x2gb.
    AM3 1055T (I aim for 4ghz clock)

The question is if those jigsaws can run at that speed on one of those?

on any AM3 platform the RAM you purchase (from any RAM manufacturer) will lock at 1600 Mhz DDR3, even max 1:4 multiplier in BIOS. Only way you can (stably) OC the RAM, even to 2000Mhz specs are to raise the FSB (front side bus). Follow the specs of the RAM and what timings the RAM asks for along with the voltage. However, by raising the "bar" past 1600 Mhz, you're going to have to raise the CPU-NB voltage as that's the memory controller voltage. Hope you can get things stable and good luck!

M4A89TD or GTD would be best. Onslaught2k3 covered the rest. =)

      Thank you
