Hello,
I've got this ram paired with the ASUS p6x58d-e mobo, all was fine until recently when I started the computer the DRAM led on the mobo stayed red indicating a problem. When I remove the cmos battery and restart - POST is normal, I re-enter the date/time in the bios and changed the hardware APM to restart the machine on power loss. They are the only bios settings changed - cpu and memory are all default to automatic settings.
I re-seated all the ram and checked power connections - they are normal.
when I get it running both the bios and windows os (64 bit win7) see all 24gb of ram - no problem. The problem is cold boot start up - fans run, hd runs, video card fan runs (completely blank screen) cd/dvd player opens, cpu fan runs, DRAM light is on and nothing happens.
I also recently updated the bios to v0303 for this asus board - successful update - no change to the problem however.
any ideas please - I'm stumped
Thanks
