  • G.Skill 4GB KIT PC3-16000 DDR3-2000 CL8 Perfect Storm Fan needed for 2000 MHz?

    Hi,

    I'm using two G.Skill 4GB KITs PC3-16000 DDR3-2000 CL8 Perfect Storm in Triple Channel-Mode on my Gigabyte GA-X58-UDR3 rev 2.0 Mainboard with a Intel i7-930 CPU.

Right now, the RAMs are running in 1066-mode. If I want to switch to 2000 MHz do I need the Perfect Storm fans or will the RAM work without the fans with 2000 MHz?

It will work fine without the fan, but the memory operates much cooler with it.

    Thank you

      Thanks!

What is the maximum temperature at which the RAMs can be operated safely? Mine are running at 60-65 C? right now...

That is under load correct? They should have no problems with 80-90 degrees, but any higher you will want to try to reduce temps.

        Thank you
