  • Ripjaws Version for Gigabyte GA-P55A-UDP4??

I need to purchase my RAM today but am a bit confused about which Rijaws Version to buy.

I have a Gigabyte GA-P55A-UD4P motherboard with a i5-760 CPU. I intend to overclock to 4.0-4.2 GHz (and therefore will need to raise the CPU voltage).

I am trying to decide between the DDR3-1600 GSkill Ripjaws versions (2x 2GB now, maybe 4x 2GB later):

    F312800CL9D-4GBRL: CAS9, 1.5V,
    F312800CL8D-4GBRM: CAS8, 1.6V
    F312800CL7D-4GBRM: CAS7, 1.65V
    F312800CL7D-4GBRH: CAS7, 1.6V

They all seem very similar to me except for the CAS and voltage? I guess CAS would not make much of a difference in real world applications? Should I care about the voltage differences? Would they all work equally well in my situation?

Would the lowest voltage sticks (F312800CL9D-4GBRL) work best? I read somewhere to not use >1.65V sticks for P55 based boards..?

    TIA!!

To answer my own question (response from Tech Support):

If you have the P55, I recommend the G.Skill F3-12800CL7D-4GBECO.

Probably the lowest pricing of what you selected, the lowest voltage (great for overclocking), and the lowest latency. It's basically all you can ask for.

The CL9 RL is the most basic, so it is recommended for some lesser performance hardware (AMD), but if you have a P55 platform, it is no problem.

With just 1.50V, this memory is capable of DDR3-1800. DDR3-2000+ easy with 1.60V. No other module is capable of this especially at $105.

    I just bought a pair
