  • Which memory for AMD setup?

I currently have an CL7 "Intel" OCZ memory set that has cold boot issues. At 23% of memtest it begins a stream of thousands of errors until I reset CMOS.

I tried my friends CL9 G.Skill memory and it worked fine without cold boot issue, but it was a triple channel set so I can't get the same exact one. What 2x2GB kit should I get? It needs to be low profile because of my CPU cooler.

    Thanks in advance.

What motherboard and CPU do you have?

Do you know the model number of the kit your friend has?

    Thank you

Asus Crosshair iv and 1090T. I dont know the number but it's the basic low profile heatspreader in red colour and 1600MHz 9-9-9-24.

        F3-12800CL9D-4GBRL
        or
        F3-12800CL9D-4GBNQ

would be the equivalent to what he has.

Should the 'Eco' series memory also work on my PC?

I got the F3-12800CL7D-4GBECO today, and it seems to work fine. BUT, if I try to run it at the 1.35V it gives me a "overclocking failed!" message so I put it to the normal 1.5V, any ideas why it is so?

Try 1.40V, the memory controller and memory are not communicating properly due to voltage differences.

1.40V would boot to windows but was unstable, 1.45V seems to be okay though.
