  • 8GB Problem with F3-12800CL9D-4GBRL

I can't seem to get my system to operate with any degree of stability using 4 sticks of F3-12800CL9D-4GBRL (2 kits of 2x2GB). I can run 2 sticks at 1600 with no problems. As soon as I try 8gb, I start getting BSOD.

I have tried incrementing NB voltage up as much as .1 with no luck. I have also tried running 8gb at 1333 with no luck.

I have seen in other threads that this particular memory has had cold boot issues. Is it possible to only see this problem with 8gb installed?

    Here are my system specs:

    GIGABYTE GA-790XTA-UD4
    Windows 7 x64
    AMD Athlon II X3 435 Rana 2.9GHz
    Antec TruePower TP-750 Blue 750W
    2x SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 5750 1GB 128-bit GDDR5
    2x G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) Model F3-12800CL9D-4GBRL

Yep, with that CPU it'll be quite difficult. Although, DDR3-1333 should be feasible. Try DDR3-1333 8-8-8-24, and maybe even bump the CPU-NB Voltage up and see how that works.

Actually, I would be happy just to get the 8gb working at DDR3-1333.

I have tried bumping up the NB voltage and I'm using 9-9-9-24 timings (manufacturers spec).

How high should the NB voltage be set at? I don't want to destroy my motherboard for the sake of 4gb of ram.

      Thanks

Should only need +0.1V, not much.
