  • G.SKILL Ripjaws Memtest fail

    I own G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-12800CL9D-4GBRL

When I run memtest with both sticks I fail after about 2 seconds. When I run the test with one stick at a time I get all the way through.

I have read a few things in this forum about similar issues but nothing is working for me.

    Specs:
    • GIGABYTE GA-890GPA-UD3H AM3 AMD 890GX SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 HDMI ATX AMD Motherboard
    • AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition Deneb 3.2GHz Socket AM3 125W Quad-Core Processor HDZ955FBGMBOX
    • G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-12800CL9D-4GBRL
    • GIGABYTE GV-N460OC-1GI GeForce GTX 460 (Fermi) 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card
    • CORSAIR HX Series CMPSU-750HX 750W ATX12V 2.3 / EPS12V 2.91 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS SILVER

I have run test at few specs

    1600 @ 1.5v/1.6v @ 9-9-9-24-2N
    1333 @ 1.5v @ 9-9-9-24-2N
    1066 @ 1.5v/1.6v @ 7-8-8-19-1T

To be honost, I don't know much about ram timing and such. Everything I have tried is based on eggxpert or this forum.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

What slots do you have them installed in? They should be in the two furthest away from the CPU.

Raise CPU-NB +0.1V to see if that helps. Most AMD 955 CPUs will need this to run DDR3-1600.

    Thank you
