  • DDR3 1600 shows as 1066

Just built this system and am having what seems to be a common issue with this setup, on boot/post the 1600 ram shows as 1066 i have read up on the posts here and tried a few settings that were offered up to others with similar components

My specs are below in the Sig

    below is one i tried

    In MIT (MB Intelligent Tweaker):

    CPU Clock Ratio - 21x
QPI Link Speed - 4.8GHz (No Choice) GSkill sugested "AUTO"
    Base Clock Control - Enabled
    BCLK Frequency - 133
    Performance Enhance - Standard
    Extreme Memory Profile - Disabled
    System Memory Multiplier - 12

DRAM Timing Selectable - Expert (Choice of: Auto, Quick or Expert) GSkill suggested "Manual"

    CAS Latency Time - 8
    tRCD - 8
    tRP - 8
    tRAS - 24

Enter these for the other three as well.

    Channel A Timing Settings
    Channel B Timing Settings
    Channel C Timing Settings

    Advanced Timings
    Command Rate - 2

    Advanced Voltage Control

    DRAM Voltage - 1.60V
    Rest to AUTO

The above settings seemed fine at first even though i never had a chance to run any tests, but today when i started her back up i received the same ,Voltage Error" on boot stating that there was a problem with the voltage and that the bios was rolling back to previous save version (sorry i should have written the error message down)

Thanks in Advance for all the Help

Try testing one stick at a time to see if one may be defective and causing problems.

      Thank you

What slots do you have them installed in? Are you still experiencing instability?

          Thank you

If you have it set to DDR3-1600, it should operate at that, or fail to boot and restart. Try enabling the XMP Profile..

If you can run CR 1, then leave at that. If not, use 2.
