I just wanted to make a suggestion to those that may be having "cold boot" issues with GSkill memory: just RMA it.
I spent over a month trouble shooting my cold boot issue:

In hindsight that was wasted time. I sent my memory back to GSkill on Tuesday 3/30. It arrived a GSkill (USA) on Thursday 4/1. I received replacement RAM on Monday 4/5.
That is an incredibly fast RMA process! Major props to GSkill RMA. For comparison purpsoses, I had to RMA my motherboard (MSI 785G-E65) due to bad analog audio ports and I did not get a replacement mobo for over six weeks. I'm still upset with MSI about that......
I have tested and re-tested my system with the new RAM and my cold boot issues appear to be dead. Thank goodness!
