  • GIGABYTE GA-790FXTA-UD5 Config.

Hi all. I just purchased 2xF3-12800CL9D-4GBNQ memory to go with this board. If someone could be so kind could you tell me how I should set this BIOS up for 8 gigs of this memory? And I'm running a AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition Deneb 3.4GHz 4 x 512KB L2 Cache 6MB L3 Cache Socket AM3 125W Quad-Core Processor with this set-up.

    Thanks Tim

First, enter in all the memory settings.

    DRAM Frequency DDR3-1600
    DRAM Timings tCL 9 - tRCD 9 - tRP 9 - tRAS 24 - Command Rate 2
    DRAM Voltage 1.50V

Then you will need to raise NB Voltage to 1.40V for 4 sticks.

Let me know how that goes.

    Thank you

Thank you Sir. I do appreciate the quick reply! The memory should be here in the next few hours and I'll post back and let you know how it went.

Ran Memtest4.0 all night without errors. Looks like this will work well.

        Thank You G.Skill Guy.

          Same setup, but a question

I have the same setup as the OP, but I note in the MOBO setup that the NB voltage suggested is at the very top of the range (and marked in an ugly red suggesting extreme danger). can you clarify the voltage (default is 1.1v)

Same setup - 4 sticks ram

You can attempt lower, or raise your CPU-NB Voltage. Simply need to apply slightly more voltage to these areas to better support 4 modules.

            Thank you
