  • How to get full rated speed (or close) from F3-12800CL9D-4GBNQ

I get errors when manually changing the bios settings up to the 1600 9-9-9-24 settings that are indicated to be valid for this memory.

I'd like to run it at 1600, or at least 1333. When Bios is set to auto, it finds it at 1067.

    Config:
    GA-MA785GMT-UD2H and F3-12800CL9D-4GBNQ
    with AMD|ATH II X2 240 AM3 2.8G RT processor

Any ideas on what settings will be stable (even if it's only at 1333?)

    Thanks

Your CPU will support 1333 but may take a few voltage (and maybe timing) adjustments. While a mobo may be rated to 1600 -2000 RAM or whatever, you need a CPU that can pull those RAM speeds also. In the case of AMD CPUs they notoriously have weak MCs

Pls offer comments on support I provide, HERE, in order to help me do a better job here:

      Thanks Tradesman!

I've set the speed to 1333, and 7-7-7-20 and it seems to be working now. Passed memtest, and has been up for 12 hours in windows.

Not sure if these are the best settings, but they seem to be working so I'll leave it here for now.

      I'm learning as I go...
