Do you have the latest BIOS? Should have no problems with that motherboard. What stepping is your CPU? If the memory works fine in single channel, but not dual channel, you may have a bad CPU.

Ok when I put dram timing to both it opened up lots more options that were all set to auto
is there anywhere in windows I can look to see if it's set up for dual channel or any program I can download cos I'm using something called speccy but maybe it's not correct
              I'm using windows 7 64 bit
              sry to be a pain

As far as performance, it is slightly reduced but if you are not gaming, overclocking, or such you should not notice a difference. Although, it simply isn't smart to stick with a bad CPU or motherboard since warranty may run out and you may be stuck with it.

Lol I fixed it I put the ram in the two blue slots and it works now
the damn manual told me to put them in the black ones nearest the CPU

Might keep an eye out for future BIOS updates, it should be something your mobo maker will get corrected, redirection of prime slots is fairly common with AMD components
